Brent Darnell’s talents are not limited to just conferences or corporate settings. He is also actively involved in community programs that enable him to use his skills to give back. The following are two organizations most near and dear to Brent’s heart:
Brent has served on the board of SafeHouse for over eight years. He donates his time to work with both SafeHouse’s staff as well as the people this organization serves to teach relationship skills, interviewing skills, stress management techniques and emotional competence. Brent also works to connect individuals with companies who are hiring and educate them on Emotional Intelligence and its applications toward personal and professional success. Brent donates resources such as his Emotional Intelligence test and workbook and leads educational sessions about the 12 Steps to Great Relationships which provides individuals with the tools needed to take control and improve every aspect of their life.
About SafeHouse: Founded in 1982 by Phillip Bray, SafeHouse Outreach offers parenting classes, mentoring programs, job skills training, transitional housing appointments, and other critical life skills to the homeless, at risk-youth, and those in life crisis. The organization’s motto is “a hand up, not a hand-out” which is displayed by their commitment to teaching valuable life skills needed to succeed in life. Learn more about this organization here.
Primal Safety Coloring book
Brent created this coloring book as a way to initiate conversation about work safety among families and co-workers. A devastatingly high number of families have been affected by work-related accidents and deaths that have left them broken and grieving. Written in both English and Spanish, this coloring book creates a unique way to remind construction workers about the most important reason to stay safe on the job – their families and loved ones. Proudly display the colored drawings at work as a way to proudly show all that you have to be safe for, your children and family. All profits from this book go toward supporting a foundation that helps families and workers who have been injured or killed on construction projects in the name of Bob A. Darnell, Brent’s father who passed away in March 2009. Education is the first step in prevention and that is what this book proudly supports. Preview and purchase the Primal Safety Coloring book here.
